Funding Sought

Ken Kookaburra says,
Don’t make me laugh, woodchipping and logging and burning native forests for electricity…..What do you want…to cook-a-burra?

Pledges are urgently being sought to fund a radio ad campaign, beginning in the southeast regions of NSW and into East Gippsland where the first forest furnace is proposed at the Eden chip mill. This will use wood from the 2000 trees logged each day for woodchips. The South East Region Conservation Alliance (SERCA Inc.) is making a major lobbying effort to persuade politicians to recognise that native forests are more valuable for carbon, water and wildlife than woodchips.
Having this issue raised on commercial radio (as well as community radio) will force Governments to take notice.
The ad will be national in its pitch and will not focus on any one state or forest area, so please consider making a donation today.
The radio ads have been professionally made and will be placed over the coming months leading up to Planning Ministers receiving bio-mass power plant proposals.
We are looking for about 400 people who can pledge $25.00 each or more, so these ads can be heard in capital cities as well as affected regions.
